Asus has dabbled around with Windows Phone concepts for a while now, but recent reports say the company is just waiting for the right time to bring the handsets to market. The company is no doubt waiting to see how Nokia fares with their new Lumia line of phones.

According to Pocket Lint, the chief of handheld division, Benson Lin said, “We are very close with Microsoft. When we think it is the right time, of course we will do it.”

Lin didn’t go into details about handsets that might come to market within the next few months, but it’s likely that the company will develop a Windows 8 tablet for consumers to complement its current Android Transformer series.
