Samsung ATIV S gets handled in the wild, shows off new call blocking feature

The Samsung ATIV S had a lot of hype when it was first announced, but that has since been trounced by the likes of Nokia and HTC. So far we know just abut nothing about the ATIV S other than specs. We’re not sure what carrier it will be on, and we’re not sure how much it will cost. Until then we’ll just have to settle for some more photos. WPCentral got their hands on some photos taken by someone who was lucky enough to have an ATIV S.

In the photos we can see a few new things. In the system settings there is a new option called “call blocking” with the caption “add call blocking numbers.” We assume this works by simply adding a phone number, and then that number is blocked. In the list of apps we can see some standard Samsung additions, and some development apps that indicate this is still not a final build. Hopefully Samsung has some more official information for us soon.

This phone is a snore. It may be thin, but there aren’t any unique aspects that set it apart from Nokia’s or HTC’s W8 Phones. Pass.

And doesn’t every phone have a call block feature? I think it’s under Settings, named “Don’t answer the phone when it rings if you don’t want to talk to them” feature.

If I was buying a Windows 8 Phone, this would be my choice. Bigger screen, sd card slot and removable battery. Htc and Nokia are a definite block on my list. No removable battery, small screen and limited storage. The only thing they got going for them is rainbow-brite colors. The non removable battery and small screen is definitely a deal breaker.

You’re one of the few people that would call a 4.5″ screen “small.”

Look at what is out here. You have smartphones with 4.65, 4’7, 4’8 and higher. 4.5 and 4.3 is the new small, especially dealing with a Windows Phone with those huge letters and icons.

As long as human hands stay the same size 4.5 will always be big.

I can’t find it. I go into settings, but that function is no where.

You must own a Blackberry. Sorry!
