The last time I told you guys about Pokki was after a major updated that added some great functionality to core apps such as Tweeki and its Gmail app, but the developers haven’t stopped working on the project. The software is now ready for Windows 8 and the beta for it brings back the classic start menu while combining access to its various apps and display social features on the side. It’s a much more elegant solution than Star Dock’s ham-fisted attempt at ripping the start menu from Windows 7 and putting it back into Windows 8.
As you can see the interface is quite elegant and offers new ways to interact with the old start menu. I’m looking forward to trying it out and you should be too, especially if you’re one of the malcontents that has decried the metro interface since day one.
