The Windows 8.1 release preview has been out for a while now, but when will it become available to everyone? Sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans have told The Verge the final update will be available in October, a full one year after Windows 8 was launched. PC makers will get Windows 8.1 later this month, but October is when we can expect to get the update.
October will bring more than just Windows 8.1. The reports also says Microsoft will introduce new 7 and 8-inch devices to launch alongside the update.
