Rumors of the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet have been swirling as of late. The device is said to have a 6-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, and huge camera. The display is the really interesting part of this device. No Windows Phone device has had a 1080p display, and that opens up the possibilities for the Start Screen. One way Microsoft will be utilizing those extra pixels is a new row of tiles.
@evleaks has tweeted the screenshot above, which is supposedly from the Lumia 10520 (notice the time on the clock). As you can clearly see there is an extra column on the Start Screen. It can now fit 3 medium tiles across, or any variation of that same size. If you wanted you could do 6 small tiles across. That is a lot of extra real estate to work with. We’re glad to see the extra column, and not just an enlarged Start Screen.
