Nokia Sold 2+ Million Devices in Q1

Ashley is a 26 year old with an enthusiasm for all things technology related. She hails from the Southern United States and when she's not tweaking her Android handset, she can usually be found in front of the computer or Xbox 360 enjoying the latest game releases.

While not without its own troubles, Nokia does have some good news despite lowering projected performance outlook. The company announced that it has sold 2 million Lumia devices in Q1, with a substantial number of Lumia activations each month since the launch of the handset line in November.

The Lumia 900 just went on sale in the US this week, which means we’ll likely see the number of activations skyrocket as more people are exposed to the devices. With several deals and incentives being offered for consumers to adopt the device, no doubt both Microsoft and Nokia are hoping that the Catch-22 no apps/no consumers will finally be broken as more developers are attracted to the platform.

That last line is exactly what they have to prove wrong. If they can’t secure the high profile apps, people will go elsewhere. After all, I use windows on my PC BC of the games/programs not BC of the OS itself. The same will hold true for phones now that they’re smart.
