Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update could include individual volume controls and Quick Settings

volume controls GDR3

We’ve been following details of Microsoft’s GDR3 update for Windows Phone 8 closely. Users have been disappointed with the lack of big features in the last GDR updates, but it looks like GDR3 could finally bring some. Previously we’ve written about the Notification Center coming to GRD3, along with support for 1080p displays and quad-core processors. Today we have more software features.

A common complaint among users is the archaic volume controls. These controls only allow for adjusting the volume for everything on the entire device, instead of specific controls for alarms, notifications, etc. GDR3 will introduce individual volume controls, as well as Quick Settings for WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, etc. These are still rumors of course, but it’s looking more and more like GDR3 will be big.

Windows Phone 8 GDR3 runs in 128 MB RAM with single core. It lags a bit unless you have 192 MB RAM or more.
