The Xbox One goes on sale this Friday, and Microsoft is busy getting ready for the launch. Today they have released the new Smartglass app for Xbox One for Windows Phone devices. This app goes above and beyond anything the original SmartGlass app could do. Let’s take a look.
The same basic features like remote control and SmartGlass companions are still present from the original app. The new features are what really make this app shine. Xbox One users will be able to put apps into Snap View right from their phone. Another cool feature is the ability to watch game DVR clips from the app. Other features include access to friends, achievements, pins, messages, and the new activity feed with Xbox Live.
If you’re planning to pick up a Xbox One (or you already have one ordered) you might as well download the app already. Xbox One SmartGlass is available for free on Windows Phone 8 below.
Update: Windows 8.1 app is out now too with all the aforementioned functionality.
