One of the coolest features of Windows Phone is the built in ability to identify songs by listening to the audio. If you didn’t know this you can find it at the music icon in Bing search. It’s a great feature because you don’t have to go out of your way to install Shazam, and it will give you the option to buy the song right in the Marketplace. A new rumor claims that this functionality will be expanded to TV audio in WP8.
Details are very scarce, other than the functionality will come to WP8. We imagine it will be similar to the song indentifying, but for TV shows or movies. If you’re watching an episode of The Office you could hold your phone up to the screen, and then it would give you a link to purchase the episode.
