Steve Ballmer, the CEO of Microsoft, is confident that Windows Phone 8 will do well. Surprising, I know. The always optimistic CEO admits that currently Windows Phone is still “relatively small,” but he has high hopes for the future. He says that their work with HTC, Nokia, and Samsung has helped them create a strong third place competitor. He expects “the volumes on Windows Phone to really ramp quickly” with the huge advertising push they are making. With the holidays around the corner this is truly now or never time for Microsoft’s mobile OS.
