The Skype app for Windows Phone is getting some improvements in the latest update from Microsoft. The home screen has a new “pivot” design, which follows the Windows Phone design more closely. You can swipe between recent, favorite, and contacts. The UI has received some nice polish to clean things up all over. The update also adds filers to help you sort through contacts.
Perhaps the biggest thing in the new update is the lack of a feature. Skype introduced video messages almost two months ago, but Windows Phone was the only platform not to get them. Unfortunately, this update doesn’t add the feature either. Microsoft is making users of their own platform wait the longest. At this time Windows Phone users can only receive the video messages. Hopefully we can get the feature soon.
