When it rains it pours, and we’ve never been more happy to be stuck in a rain storm. Yesterday it was an official Hulu Plus app, earlier it was an official YouTube app, and now the official Foursquare app is getting a huge update.
The official Foursquare app has never been a bad app. In fact, many people consider it to be the best version of Foursquare available on any platform. That didn’t stop them from continuing to improve the app even more. Version 3.0 of Foursquare brings a bevy of new features that deserve a paragraph all to their own.
You can now pin friends and venues directly to the Start screen. This will make checking-in to your favorite spots even easier. The app now supports lockscreen notifications so you always know when you have been dethroned. Voice commands are now supported so you can search and check-in just by speaking. Last but not least is the ability to check-in and share by using NFC.
The update is live in the Store now for Windows Phone 8 devices. What do you think of this update? Do you use Foursquare?
