Joe Belfiore taking on new duties for Internet Explorer, but is still with Windows Phone

Joe Belfiore, most known for being the Windows Phone guy at Microsoft, is getting a new job. Belfiore is taking on some new duties in place of Dean Hachamovitch, who is also switching roles. He will lead a team focused on the app side of Internet Explorer and user experience.

Joe notes on Twitter that he will not be leaving any of his duties regarding Windows Phone. This Internet Explorer stuff is in addition to his normal duties. Microsoft is shifting a lot of stuff within the company, and this move is to get Belfiore ready for his transition to the more general “phone/tablet/pc” division. Hopefully Belfiore can help make IE in Windows Phone a much better browser.
